Bor-Ting Jong

Hi, welcome to my website. I am a climate scientist, generally interested in water, including the water cycle, water-related extremes, water security, the ocean, swimming, etc. My research focuses on regional hydroclimate variability and extremes (such as drought and extreme rainfall) and their connections to the large-scale atmospheric circulation, from subseasonal to decadal and longer time-scales. I am also interested in how these processes are captured by climate models.

Outside of work, I like swimming, reading, traveling, and photography. I love wandering in cities or sitting by the ocean, lakes, ports, etc.
