If you ain’t scared, you ain’t human.
When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers—boys whose memories are also gone.
Nice to meet ya, shank. Welcome to the Glade.
Outside the towering stone walls that surround the Glade is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It’s the only way out—and no one’s ever made it through alive.
Everything is going to change.
Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying.
Remember. Survive. Run.
I actually didn't enjoy this book as much as I thought I would. Maybe my expectations were too high.
I have a friend who's absolutely OBSESSED with The Maze Runner series. She convinced me to read the books, and I was pretty excited about them.
And then when I read them I was very...bored? Confused? Annoyed? All three?
I did actually enjoy the last half of the book, but the first half drove me insane. Why did it take so long to get started? Is it supposed to be entertaining and suspenseful when we wait at least 10 chapters before Thomas learns 1 thing about what's going on?
However, when the story picked up and the escape plans really started, I was super invested and finished the second half of the book in one sitting. Hats off to that.
We recommend this book for ages 10+
