Assessment Evidence
This is an example of an Integrated Performance Assessment I created. It allows students at the Intermediate Low level to show their ability to interpret an authentic legend through reading and another through listening. The writing portion has them compare the two in the target language while comparing them to a legend they are familiar with in the United States or another culture.
Reading
Students read about a legend from Venezuela and answer questions about the main idea and supporting details. The rubric used to assess this and listening is borrowed from ACTFL and found here.
Listening
Students listen to a Central American legend found here that they are not familiar with and answer questions about the main idea and supporting details.
Writing
After listening to one legend and reading about another, students compare the two in writing while contrasting them to a legend they are familiar with.
