Figure 5 depicts future resistance trends of E. coli based on Figure 4's antibiotic resistance trend data. The straight lines indicate the regression lines, whereas the portions marked by Xs serve as predictions up to 2029. Based on the data, the proportion of E. coli strains with resistance classified as greater than or equal to CLSI 2 (Intermediate and Resistant) will make up around 25%. The data indicates that the proportion of E. coli strains categorized as Class 3 (resistant) has been steadily increasing at a faster rate than those classified as Class 1 (susceptible).
