Activating your BMO card online is quick and usually takes only a few minutes. BMO allows customers to activate their credit cards through the official activation page or through BMO Digital Banking.
Open your browser and go to bmo.com/activate.
You will be directed to the secure BMO card activation page where you can begin the activation process.
Enter the required information from your new BMO card.
This may include your 16-digit card number, expiration date, and other verification details if requested.
If prompted, sign in using your BMO Online Banking credentials.
You can use your debit card, credit card, or Login ID along with your password to access your account.
From the Account Summary page, select the BMO card you want to activate.
Choose Manage Card and then select Activate your card.
Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
Review the information and submit your activation request.
Once activation is successful, your BMO card will be ready to use for purchases, online transactions, and bill payments.
If bmo.com/activate is not working, try clearing your browser cache and cookies.
Use another browser or device and make sure your internet connection is stable.
If online activation is unavailable, you can activate your card through the BMO Mobile Banking App by signing in and selecting the card activation option.
For some cards, BMO may request additional identity verification before activation. In such cases, you may need to contact support or visit a BMO branch with identification documents.
Always use the official BMO activation website when activating your card. Avoid third-party activation pages and never share your banking credentials on unofficial websites.
