Extracurricular Activities

BMMS sponsors many extracurricular activities that are run by the school and or the BMMS PTA.  Information about these activities are often announced in school and mentioned in an email or a BMMS newsletter.   These activities all have a BMMS teacher sponsors.  After school activities take place right after the school day but require transportation home.  Students who are walkers to school may walk home after the activity.

The following extracurricular activities are offered during the school day:

Bobcat News - This activity occurs at the beginning of school and not after school.  BMMS morning announcements are broadcasted on the bobcat news.  It is a television style broadcast given by students of the school.  Students are designated one day a week all year to be the news crew.  The crew consists of the anchor and 3-5 members film crew.  Students often are creative about their weekly broadcast - not only relaying school wide news but having a special spot (Trivia Tuesday, Fun Fact Friday, Sports, etc).  The bobcat news team is formed at the end of the previous school year.

GT Seminars - G/T Instructional Seminars offer enrichment opportunities for any interested student, regardless of participation in G/T content classes. These seminars meet during the school day and are scheduled on a rotating basis. A calendar will be published at the beginning of each quarter so that students participating in seminars will know of seminar meetings in advance. HCPSS guidelines recommend that students who are in the music program and who have a sectional should take only one G/T seminar. Students who do not have a sectional may participate in two G/T seminars.

Some examples of past GT seminars include:
