BMMS It's Academic Club

After school practices will begin on September 24th on Thursdays from 3:15pm- 4:15pm. We will begin with a general Google Meet and will then go into break out rooms.

This year, we will have an online information meeting for parents. Please take note of the two dates offered (same content, different day): Tuesday, September 22nd from 7:00-8:00PM or Wednesday, September 23rd, from 8:00-9:00PM. If your child is interested in participating in this club, complete the form (available on August 25th for returning club members and on September 9th for all other BMMS students) and attend one of the information evenings.

Please note that, due to the pandemic, we are not planning to organize or go to any tournaments until our community is immunized, and we feel that it is safe to mingle with other students.

Welcome to the It's Academic club at Burleigh Manor where students participate in quizbowl tournaments and practice. Students who participate in quizbowl enjoy ....

Quizbowl is an academic competition where students are asked questions from all academic subjects and have to buzz in faster than the other players. Points are awarded for responding with the correct answer (much like the TV show "Jeopardy!"). The club started at Burleigh in 2012, and we now have regularly 80 students practicing every week.

Mme. Lanz, Burleigh Manor French teacher, is the sponsor for this club. Mrs. Sara Seifter is the coach for Burleigh Manor It's Academic team as well as for the Centennial Elementary and Centennial High School It's Academic teams. Mrs. Swann, parent, is responsible for database, website and so many other things that make this club roll smoothly.
