Nice to meet you! My name is Christopher Tan and I’m a fourth year BME:Premed. As an aspiring physician scientist, I am involved in a lot of research on campus. I’m the lab manager of the BME Fabrication Lab. I am an undergraduate researcher in the King Lab (medical devices addressing women's health), Beier Lab (neurophysiology), and La Spada Lab (stem cell disease modelling). I’m am the Academic Advocacy Director for ASUCI and Community Service Chair for the Campuswide Honors Collegium. Outside of school, I enjoy 3D printing, rock climbing, and photography. BMES is hands down my favorite club; it's where met a lot of my awesome friends, got access to my professional opportunties, and made lots of my core college memories. Hi everyone! My name is Samra Rahman, and I’m a third-year Biomedical Engineering major with a specialization in Biomaterials and Computational Biology. I’m an undergraduate researcher in the Liu Lab, where I study how immune cells interact with biomaterials to optimize tissue repair. Previously, I completed an R&D internship at Matregenix, developing electrospun nanofibers for advanced biomaterials applications and worked in the Downing Lab, analyzing single-cell RNA sequencing data to study stem cell behavior. In my free time, I love café hopping, hiking, and dancing! I’ve loved being a part of BMES throughout my UCI journey and can’t wait to serve as Treasurer! Feel free to reach out to me :)

Hii! I’m Nikka, a 3rd-year Biomedical Engineering major. I am currently part of King Lab, working on The Novel Suture Project, where we’re validating a new suture technique to help treat postpartum hemorrhage. Outside of school, I love reading, swimming, hiking, baking, and spending time at the beach. I am currently a student researcher in the Browne Lab working on a novel form of ocular diagnostics known as two photon imaging. I am currently part of the Ding Lab researching FISH (Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization) to advance RNA spatial mapping on a single cell level. This summer, I completed an R&D internship at Labcorp, working on developing non-invasive prenatal screening (NIPT) assays for early detection of fetal genetic disorders.
