GARDEN OR PLAY in the school grounds during the holidays

Continuing our successful holiday access sessions we are aiming to offer a few summer dates across July and August 2025 for people to garden and play:

*We have been given permission from the local authority to use the school grounds during set times during school holidays. 

FINISHING TOUCHES - HELP NEEDED!!!

We will still need helped with the final touches for the outdoor classroom.

A weekend date will be shared (some time between now and end of summer) and help is needed. If you can donate any of the following please get in touch:

• guttering

• rain water collection funnel

• IBC  or other large water butt

• Wood weather protection treatment (clear)

Most importantly we just need bodies to help get the last bit finished.

The OUTDOOR CLASSROOOM is HERE!!!!

• Helen Ward for negotiating LOTS of freebies and goodwill, and keeping everything moving forward

• Sarah McGlasson for getting digger, keeping us right on the base, and building the kids a hill

• Eddie of EJN Developments for waterproof membrane, digger and whacker plate time

• Craig Booth for tractor/digger/whacker plate time and a HUGE amount of hardcore for the base

• Brian from BHC for the sand for base (and compost for the polytunnel)

• BorderMix for an enormous amount for free concrete for the base

• Ryan and the AMR Log Cabins team for framing the base and building the incredible structure

• ALL the amazing bakers who donated baking last minute to fuel the builders and thank the concrete givers

• ALL the helpers (apologies if I have missed your name): James, David, Andrew, Craig M, Craig B, Katy, Sarah M, Helen, Amy, George, Robyn, Innes, Jamie, Maud and Magnus.

This was all made possible by huge amounts of people's time, as well as generous funds raised by our community over the last couple years, as well as a grant from Cruikshank charity.

50 TILES MADE to grow the community artwork installed at Black Mount School

4th and 11th March the community created 50 more tiles. We look forward to them getting installed on the school soon!
