Purchased new by my parents from the local Subaru dealership in March 2017, this Crosstrek served as my first car. At this time, I was a sophomore in high school.
Before I got my license, I drove this car under a learner's permit while one of my parents sat in the passenger seat. After getting my license, I used the car to commute betwen home and school, and additionally my cross country and track & field meets. I graduated from high school in 2019, and continued using the car to commute between home and community college. Then, in 2020, COVID happened, and the car mostly sat in the garage and wasn't really being driven as much.
In 2022, sometime after COVID died down, I applied to and got accepted into an online university. Around the same time, my neighbor pointed me toward autocross events organized by my local SCCA region and I decided to give it a try. After running my first event in my bone stock Crosstrek, I began gradually modifying it to continue participating in these events and build up my seat time. I autocrossed the car up until 2024, and later graduated from university at the end of the year. I then decided to take a temporary break from autocross to refocus on myself. The Crosstrek went back to being a daily driver while retaining its autocross modifications.
It is a 2017 Crosstrek 2.0i Premium (GP7), painted in Quartz Blue Pearl.
The Crosstrek is powered by a 2.0-liter FB20B, a naturally aspirated DOHC 4-cylinder boxer engine mated to a Lineartronic TR580 CVT.
Due to the addition of an aftermarket air filter and a catback exhaust, its actual power output is unknown. However, a stock model produces 148 hp (150 PS; 110 kW).
