Sonja Streuber earned her MM degree in Music Education from the Hochschule fuer Musik at the Johannes Gutenberg Universitaet in Mainz, Germany, where she graduated from the studio of the great Polish pianist Lidia Grychtolowna. She also studied with Bach and Beethoven expert Lotte Jekéli and, as a teenager, with Gieseking scholar Gerda Floessner and Alexis Weissenberg protégé Franz Friedrich Eichberger at the Wiesbadener Musikakademie.
Besides working with students of all ages, Sonja has performed as collaborative pianist with string players and vocalists, lounge pianist, keyboarder in various worship bands, and as occasional church organist.
Sonja is passionate about introducing people of all ages to the joy of making music on the piano, regardless of the genre. Her teaching approach emphasizes creativity and fun, ensuring that each student finds their unique musical voice. Alongside a rigorous, hand-picked piano curriculum tailored to individual needs, Sonja integrates music theory into her lessons to enhance students' sight reading and improvisation skills, fostering a well-rounded and inspiring musical experience.
Noelle Streuber-Eden started her violin studies at the tender age of 3 and three-quarters and hasn't stopped making music since then. An award-winning violinist, she currently studies with Prof. Guillaume Combet of the University of Delaware and has performed in multiple master classes for such luminaries as Almita Vamos, Ida Kavafian, Grammy Award Winner Jennifer Koh, and others. She has also worked with Desiree Ruhstrat Bernard Zinck, and Peter Zazofski at institutes ranging from Heifetz to BU Tanglewood.
Noelle grew up under the guidance of the remarkable violin pedagogue Tamara Ringas, a former student of Josef Gingold and Franco Gulli, whose inspired teaching has deeply influenced her. Noelle believes that every person has an inner melody, and she is passionate about helping her students discover and express that unique beauty through their violin playing. With a deep appreciation for her own musical upbringing, Noelle strives to create an environment where each student can uncover and bring their inner music to life.

Where are lessons available?
Lessons are available in-studio (piano or violin) or at your home (piano only). Note that the studio also houses a small dog and a cat.
When are lessons available?
Piano lessons are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays; violin lessons are available Thursday and Friday afternoon.
How long is a lesson and how much do you charge?
Lessons are 30 or 45 minutes, depending on the student's age and playing level. For pricing, please contact us.
Do you offer online lessons?
Yes. Zoom works best for us.
Do I need an instrument at home?
In order to make progress, students need their own instruments or daily access to an appropriate instrument. Violin sizes are measured based on the student's arm length; pianos (electric or acoustic) should have 88 weighted keys.
How much of a time investment does this require?
Learning anything new requires regular (weekly) instruction and practice. For young students (under 13), this means that caregivers attend the lesson, take practice notes, and guide everyday home practice, which can range from 10 minutes to 30 minutes or longer a day, at least 5 days a week (depending on the student's level). For older students, this means carving out as much time as is appropriate in order to make the desired progress. Life happens, though, and we understand that, too.
Can I learn Fur Elise? What about Billy Joel's Piano Man? Anything by Taylor Swift?
Yes. Yes, you can.
Are there recitals?
Yes! Recitals and other performance opportunities give students confidence with their playing skills. Informal get-togethers at the studio are offered twice a year to give students an opportunity to play for their peers in a relaxed fun environment. This gives them experience, encouragement and motivation for performing at the annual family recital held at the end of the schoolyear in collaboration with other teachers' studios.
Is there a written studio policy?
Yes. We go over it during the free introductory conversation.
