Hi!!! My name is Morgan Plourde, and for the 2021-22 school year, I will be in grade 12 - preparing to head off to university. While this is definitely a stressful time in my life, it has been pretty exciting thinking of this next step.
When I came to TSS for grade 10, I had been super nervous (as one tends to be when placed in a new environment). While I helped out with the Arts and Crafts Show that year, I wanted to do more. Unfortunately, the second half of that year was when schools all across the world were shut down - hard to join clubs and volunteer when people aren't taking new members.
That's why when I heard about the Believe Leadership Course last year, I had to talk to the school. I wanted to create a difference, and what better way to do that than by helping to rebuild our school's reputation. So with the help of 5 students, I brought this wonderful organization to Thorold, and guided them to create projects that will help those in our community.
And we're just getting started.
Currently, I am part of the BLC TSS Chapter and Student Council - though I am hoping to join more clubs this year as well. In addition, I am hoping to major in either Forensic Science at the University of Toronto, Molecular Biology and Genetics at McMaster University or the University of Guelph, or Computational Biochemistry at Carleton University.
If you ever need recommendations for books to read or music to listen to, I am your girl!
