Course Description
The goal of this class is to introduce the student to the Internet of Things, wherein devices connect with each other, the cloud, processes, and people. Additionally, we will continue the exploration of programming concepts, such as program design, programming logic data structures, and object-oriented programming.
Course Objectives
Program microcontroller GPIOs (general purpose input/output pins) to enable communication between the hardware common sensors using Python or common scripting languages.
Write applications that process sensor data and take specific actions, such as LED, multi-display digital signage, gaming, etc.
Compare IoT architecture and design.
Understand IoT data management and compute stack.
Provide guidance on how to secure IoT devices.
