Barcelona, Spain

Hello and welcome to my google site! My name is Blake Williams and I will be student teaching abroad in Barcelona, Spain. I am a senior at Western Kentucky University and getting a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I am currently student teaching in my hometown, Henderson, Kentucky at Spottsville Elementary School. For the last part of my student teaching placement, I will be going abroad to teach in Barcelona, Spain. This has always been a dream of mine to study abroad in a different country, and now it is finally being fulfilled. I will be there for one month traveling and teaching with three of my best friends---an experience I will cherish forever! Follow along with me on my adventure of a lifetime. I will be posting updates and pictures to share my journey along the way. Stay tuned!

Preparing for My Trip...

To prepare for my study abroad trip, I downloaded the app "Duolingo" to freshen up on my Spanish speaking skills. I have not studied Spanish in a very long time, but I was lucky to have worked with co-workers who are fluent in Spanish for the past four years. This helped me to prepare for basic geetings and words to get around. I also did some research on the city of Barcelona, the country of Spain, and St. Paul's School to at least have an idea of what to expect when traveling and teaching there. Former student teachers that studied abroad in Barcelona shared helpful tips for a smoother and more rewarding trip.
