Our Story

In our country today, there is a significant dearth of Black, Latinx, and Native-American youth that play the piano. The Black Pianists Society is a student-led virtual non-profit organization that was founded in order to connect student musicians of color from all walks of life, across the country. We work to embrace empower young BIPOC musicians through academic support, volunteer and performance opportunities, and more!

Our Mission

Connect

We collaborate with youth and music-focused groups around the world to raise awareness about discrimination in the music and art community and recruit new members.

Empower

We fight for students of color to exercise their rights and learn about the countless opportunities that are available to them.

Inspire

We give young BIPOC musicians the resources and peer support to pursue their academic and creative interests while simultaneously extending a hand to others in need of help.

Updates for 2021

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are not accepting any physical donations (cash nor item) at this time. Electronic donations will be accepted as of March 2021. For both safety and convenience reasons, the Black Pianists Society will remain a virtual organization until further notice and all meetings will occur via Google Meet. We thank you for your patience and support!

Interested members or volunteers can visit the Our Team page of our website to see which Chief Officer can best answer any questions they may have. Parents or guardians interested in signing a child up for any of our projects, events, or programs are encouraged to fill out the Contact Us form at the bottom of this page.
