Journals

A journal is a type of dairy. I have a copy of a journal entry for each of you. After I pass them out, I will read the entry aloud while you read it silently. After I read the entry, we will discuss the following questions:

• Who is writing the journal?

• When was the journal written?

• What is happening to the author?

• What can you learn about this person's experience by reading the journal?

• What are the exciting words the writer uses? How can you determine the meaning of each of these compelling words if you don't already know the meaning?

The standards that a journal uses to determine publication can vary widely. Articles tend to be highly technical, representing the latest theoretical research and experimental results in the field of science covered by the journal. They are often incomprehensible to anyone except for researchers in the field and advanced students. In some subjects, this is inevitable given the nature of the content.

A Journal would be declared whether it's national or international based on its level of circulation...

Even, if an article is developed or written by an author from a different country than the origin of the journal... it would be recognized as a national journal if it is circulated within the boundaries of origin...

But, even if a journal has contributors specific to a single country but has been subscribed and circulated to a different nation then it can be called an international journal...

Today some organizations have journals entitled inter-national journals, these are not international journals they are national journals and they are promoted so with the objective of increasing their circulation and raising money...
