First Cut . . .

. . . has been designed to provide members with a list of good quality companies and, more importantly, to provide a library of stock studies completed by our members. Compare your judgments to what others are thinking. Click here if you would like to submit a stock study.

The companies listed exhibit quality characteristics that are prized by BetterInvesting members. Common traits include consistent growth of sales and earnings at a rate that is considered to be sufficient for the company size.

To Submit a Study

Contribute your stock study for posting in the First Cut collection. A stock study may be submitted on any high quality, growth company of your choice, not limited to those companies included in the current listing of First Cut stocks.

The First Cut stock study report template has been created to provide a guide for your stock study contribution. Everyone wants to know not only what judgment was applied to the Stock Selection Guide (SSG), but WHY each judgment was made. The main idea of the template is to provide a simple format to capture the reasoning and thought-process of the contributor.

To submit a stock study please complete the First Cut template form, create a PDF of the SSG (see instructions in template), and submit both to FirstCut@betterinvesting.net.

A team of volunteers will review all submissions to ensure the stock meets our quality standards, judgments are reasonable, and BetterInvesting guidelines are followed. The rules applied will be broad, and will allow for a wide variety of judgment.

This new program is a wonderful opportunity for members to help other members. We all want our community to be the very best it can be, and it can’t be done without you. Thank you for your support and participation.
