BS: Biotechnology | Kaohsiung Medical University
On Board: July 2025
Research Focus: single-cell microfluidics; cytokine dynamics
Jeremy is currently a master's student at the Institute of Biotechnology, NTHU. He graduated from Kaohsiung Medical University with a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology. During his undergraduate years, he focused his attention on biomedical science and technologies, particularly excelling in the field of molecular biology. Through continuous exploration of his research interests, he decided to delve deeper into the field of nanobiotechnology, which led him to joining the BioMagNES Group. His research emphasizes microfluidic biochips, and he aims to detect low-copy-number cytokines secreted by individual cells, monitoring their output dynamics and profiling cellular heterogeneity.
Jeremy plays volleyball and basketball, and, more interestingly, he gets a knack for sniffing out hidden gem restaurants. He describes himself as a social creature, enjoying group vibes much more than being a lone wolf. As such, Jeremy expects himself to be a good team player in a workspace.

BBA: Statistics (Big Data Science) | Tunghai University
On Board: July 2025
Research Focus: single-cell microfluidics; extracellular vesicle; tumor microenvironment
Joyce obtained the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in statistics, with a focus on big data science. Envisioning the prospects of “life engineering,” she decided to transition her major when applying to graduate schools. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in biotechnology at NTHU, and she looks forward to diving into the multidisciplinary fields driven by bioengineering. To study pre-metastatic niche (PMN), she works on single-cell microfluidics that investigates the role of extracellular vesicles (EVs) in metastasis, advancing early cancer detection and precision medicine.
Joyce enjoys spending her leisure time with family and friends, engaging in activities such as traveling and tasting culinary delights. She also loves the soothing moments when accompanying her cat (Bubu) and watching Netflix.

As an undergraduate student majoring in biomedical science, Vy actively explores the intersection of biology, medicine, and technology to address real-world healthcare challenges. Her prior experiences were focused on molecular biology, microbiology, and infectious diseases, including studies on antimicrobial resistance. Through the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP), Vy excitedly joined the BioMagNES Group, where she explores bioengineering areas such as single-cell microfluidics, magnetic biosensing, and mHealth in vitro diagnostics. Although the engineering-intensive topics may seem rather strange to her, Vy loves challenges and positively takes the opportunity to widen her bandwidth in a cross-disciplinary spectrum. To prepare for her future master’s studies, Vy immerses herself in the research-driven campus (i.e., NTHU) and is figuring out her research interests while horning her hands-on skills.
Vy enjoys listening to music, playing volleyball and badminton, and recording daily vlogs to capture meaningful moments. Those activities let her stay balanced, creative, and motivated beyond working environment.
