Welcome to Biology 5010 Current Topics in Biology! This will be the syllabus for this course, which is a little different than what you may be used to seeing. However, this site is mobile friendly and easily accessible. Please use it to find the answers to all of the things that you will normally find on the syllabus! • This is a 15-week fully in person course that begins on August 22, 2022

• Readings and other materials will be posted on Canvas in the appropriate weekly module.

• You will learn in a community with your peers. This is not a self-paced course, meaning there will be due dates, scheduled assignments, and required interaction and teamwork with classmates.

• This class will meet regularly in person!!!

• By the end of Week 1, you will be expected to have logged-in to our course in Canvas, logged in to Slack, and have taken the Introduction Survey.

• This class is organized into one-week modules.

• Modules will contain readings, Powerpoint presentations for discussions, the link to the Zoom meeting, links to assignments given that week, etc. Basically, everything that is assigned or needed that week will be available within the weekly module.

• You are responsible for keeping up with the material. You are responsible for turning assignments in on time in Canvas. I will do my best to make this as easy and clear as possible. Please remember to communicate and READ. THE. SYLLABUS!
