Integrando is a yearly effort to gather around every member of the lab, that is, every professor, student and researcher, to be mentally locked inside the meeting room during one week. The main goal of this activity is to integrate people who usually don't take their eyes off their own experiments or their many readings, so they may come together and brainstorm around a central puzzle. As an attempt to broden everyone's horizons, we also aim to bring external researchers, from other universities or research institutes, with a mind set somewhere different from the lab's main theoretical thread.
First Integrando
External Professors:
Brazilian biologist with a Ph.D. in ecology, worked as an associate researcher at Ulm University, Germany, and currently work as an associate professor at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. My research focuses on ecological synthesis. In other words, I aim to help connect the dots between data and ideas. My primary goal is to unveil the assembly rules of ecological systems formed by species interactions. I also have a strong commitment to training young scientists and popularizing scientific knowledge.
Graduated by Universidade Estadual de Campinas in Physics (2010 and 2011). PhD in Physics by the same institution (2018) with thesis on active optomechanic devices, with sandwich period at Université Paris Diderot. Current post-doc at Universidade Estadual de Campinas, working on physics applied to evolutionary biology. Specially interested in ecologic and genetic modelling for evolving populations and physics of complex systems.
