🧬Brazil Genomes Project - Vacancy for bioinformatician to analyze genomic data

DTI-A scholarship (CNPq) to begin a research project with a focus on technological / industrial development. targeting graduates, master's-level professionals, or doctors to work with genomic data analysis. The chosen candidate will collaborate with cross-functional and organizational research teams. They will put proven methods for efficient multi-omics data curation and analysis to use, improve them, and expand them.

Prerequisites:

- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, such as biology, biomedicine, computer science, computational genetics, mathematics, or bioinformatics;

- Expertise with the programming languages Python and/or R;

- High performance computing (HPC) and Unix/Linux operating system proficiency.

- Experience creating and managing bioinformatics workflows.

- Knowledge of collecting, confirming, and processing omics datasets (genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics);

- The capacity to organize and manipulate huge volumes of data; - The knowledge and mastery of fundamental statistical ideas.

- The capacity for teamwork, initiative, and organization;

- Strong English communication abilities, both written and spoken (preferred).


🧬Brazil Genomes Project - Vacancy for database/web platform development

DTI-A scholarship (CNPq) to begin a research project with a focus on technological and industrial development.  focused on hiring graduates, master's students, or doctors to work on building the ATP-Br database. Supporting the integration, management, and analysis of extensive and intricate multi-omics datasets, including, among others, transcriptomics, genetics, and epigenetics, is a key component of this position. Assuring the correctness, quality, and completeness of our dataset repositories is an essential component of our role.

Prerequisites:

- Bachelor's degree in biology, biomedicine, bioinformatics, computer science, computational genetics, mathematics, statistics, or a closely related discipline is required as a prerequisite.

- Comprehensive understanding of relational databases, including MySQL and PostgreSQL;

- The capacity to organize and alter huge volumes of genetic and clinical data;

- Knowledge of REST APIs, PHP unit, and xd bug; - Experience with object-oriented programming and integrating services using REST APIs;

- Understanding of the Deploy process, Git, version control, and DevOps/Cloud/AWS.

- Web development expertise;

- Ability to work in a team, initiative, and organization; Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript;

- Understanding of good practices, standards, and principles of software engineering;

- Strong English communication abilities, both written and spoken (preferred).
