New pathways in scientific communication have emerged in the digital age. Sharing research through social media platforms, such as YouTube, allow researchers to reach a broader audience. BioantTalks was created with this purpose in mind, to connect anthropologists worldwide and be an educational tool for students.
BioantTalks will allow:
Anthropologists present their research in the comfort of their homes or office
Since there are no fees required, BioantTalks is accessible to anthropologists, regardless of their career stage
Connects anthropologists around the world on an online platform
Networking: encourages communication and collaboration
Public engagement
Reducing work-related carbon emissions associated with academic travel
BioantTalks features:
1) Virtual conferences: BioantTalks will launch a call for papers. If the abstract is accepted, authors would then create a 15-minute video, which must meet the Code of Conduct and Terms & Conditions. The qualifying video will be posted on the BioantTalks YouTube channel. To register for a conference or event, just subscribe to the channel and click on the notifications button to make sure you do not miss a video
2) Live webinars
3) Virtual Workshops
4) Educational videos
A video about your research should not exceed 15 minutes in length, formatted as a .mp4 or .wmv file. Your abstract and keywords will be published alongside your video.
There is no required structure in how you make your video. Be creative!
If creating videos is not your forte, simply add audio to your PowerPoint slides, before converting it into a video.
Video audio must be in English. Optionally, videos may be in Portuguese or Spanish with English subtitles. The authors are welcome to add subtitles to the English video in another language.
