Bilbo Luansa was born in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. A graduate of a Jogja Film Academy. Together with the production house, Lokapurva Films, he focused on making and developing short films from development to distribution.

The latest short documentary, Different Touch in Batik, has been nominated for Best Short Documentary at the 2021 Indonesian Film Festival and Piala Maya 2022 as a research team. A Taste of Farewell Food, is a short film as a director that received an official selection at the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival in the Indonesian screen program and Jakarta Film Week. The film has full support from the production fund of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

Recenly, his project Happy Good Rest, was selected for prestigious film labs like Jogja Director Lab and LOCK Full Circle Lab, and is a Finalist for Europe On Screen 2024, guaranteeing a mature and critically recognized artistic vision.
