I am currently a Scientist in the Chair of Interconnected Automation Systems at the University of Siegen. Before joining the university, I worked as a group leader in the Department of Engineering and Communicationat Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in joint affiliation with the Department of Power Electronics and Electrical Drives at the Fraunhofer-Institut für Energiewirtschaft und Energiesystemtechnik (IEE). My responsibilities in the current position involve teaching, research and management. I am extending my area of expertise in power electronics converters and energy storage devices in this job. The focus of research and development involves (i) developing, prototyping, and testing power electronics converters for use in varied applications using wide-band gap devices, (ii) testing, characterisation, and modelling of electrochemical systems, and (iii) measurement, evaluation, and automation of systems. My core areas of professional expertise include research and development, innovation, and academia.
During my PhD, I have extensively worked in designing, prototyping, and controlling power electronics converters for EV drivetrains and chargers (thesis supervisor Prof Dr.-Ing. Praveen Kumar.). I have also gained expertise in designing intelligent controllers for V2G systems, Li-ion battery electrochemical modelling- its simulation and causes of degradation, and charging techniques to meet the target of fast charge, along with reduced battery degradation.
Awarded 2nd Outstanding PhD Thesis Prize by the 2nd Best Outstanding PhD Thesis Award by the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society in the OnCON 2022 (December 9-11, 2022)
