Lesson 5: Alternative Theories to the Big Bang
Objective: In this lesson, we will investigate other evolutionary models of the solar system such as string theory and the steady-state model.
There are several other scientific theories describing the origins of the universe that have been proposed over the years. At the beginning of the unit you were asked if you had heard any of these theories. For this lesson we will examine several of these alternatives. Go to your discussion board and reply to the following questions:
- What other proof might the evidence of the Big Bang need?
- How might scientists go about getting that proof?
Return to the topic several times over the next few days. Read over your classmates responses and reply to 2 of them making sure to ask questions and encourage further discussion. Use the discussion rubric and netiquette rules.
