PENTECOST
Read: Exodus 32:28 SIDE NOTE: If you read all of Exodus 32, notice the golden calf is a representation of the God that took them out of Egypt. (not a new god), it's a graven image of THE God. So what is the cross on our steeples or around our necks? Is it a graven image of our God? What about the crosses with Jesus on it? Is that? Link to a study on the cross / golden calf.
Any way, back to the subject of Feasts. Notice in Leviticus 23 Feast of weeks / Pentecost (because it's 50 days after Passover). If you do some Jewish research, you will find that the Jews celebrate this feast as the giving of the Torah (1st 5 books of Moses) This is when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the law. 3000 souls were killed that day. (because of golden calf)
Read: Acts 2:41 Notice on the same day (Pentecost) they were together celebrating this feast, and 3,000 souls were added. Keep in mind this feast is 50 days after Jesus rose from dead, 10 days after he ascended into heaven. So Yeshua is physically gone and promised to send YHWH's (God's) Holy Spirit (helper) to be with them. This proves the feasts are still relevant through the end of times.
Numbers notice compared to Acts 2,
Deuteronomy 30:
11 Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. 12 It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” 13 Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” 14 No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.
Numbers 11: 1 Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the Lord, and when he heard them his anger was aroused. Then fire from the Lord burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp. 2 When the people cried out to Moses, he prayed to the Lord and the fire died down. 3 So that place was called Taberah,[a]because fire from the Lord had burned among them...........16 The Lord said to Moses: “Bring me seventy of Israel’s elders who are known to you as leaders and officials among the people. Have them come to the tent of meeting, that they may stand there with you. 17 I will come down and speak with you there, and I will take some of the power of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them. They will share the burden of the people with you so that you will not have to carry it alone..............24 So Moses went out and told the people what the Lord had said. He brought together seventy of their elders and had them stand around the tent. 25 Then the Lord came down in the cloud and spoke with him, and he took some of the power of the Spirit that was on him and put it on the seventy elders. When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied—but did not do so again.
26 However, two men, whose names were Eldad and Medad, had remained in the camp. They were listed among the elders, but did not go out to the tent. Yet the Spirit also rested on them, and they prophesied in the camp. 27 A young man ran and told Moses, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.”
28 Joshua son of Nun, who had been Moses’ aide since youth, spoke up and said, “Moses, my lord, stop them!”
29 But Moses replied, “Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!” 30 Then Moses and the elders of Israel returned to the camp.
Deuteronomy 34:9 Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit[b] of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did what the Lord had commanded Moses.
