About
Bhutan Volleyball Federation (BVBF) is the governing body of volleyball in Bhutan, and is an affiliate of the Bhutan Olympic Committee, and the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). Regionally, it is affiliated to Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC).
BVBF was one of the first federations that Bhutan Olympic Committee created. There was no constitution as such and the federation was as one of the sports branch of Bhutan Olympic Committee. It was in 1992 when BOC handed over the federation to the first General Secretary Dasho Meghraj Gurung.
Over the years there were few changes in personnel in the federation and there was a steady progress. Now the federation has a constitution, executive members and set programmes held every year.
The mission of the federation is to promote volleyball in Bhutan, and to enhance the National Team and to participate in regional and international competitions. All the games organized by BVBF are played outdoors, and tournaments are conducted at the Changlingmethang National Volleyball Arena. The federation aims to produce capable players and train them to represent Bhutan on an international level.
