1. Name of the Competition
The competition shall be known as Institutional Volleyball Championship 2022
2. Competition Structure
The competition will be played on league cum knockout basis.
2.1. The Group Stage: Pool standing procedure
· Number of matches won
· Match points
· Set ratio
· Point ratio
· If the tie continues as per the point ratio between two teams, the priority will be given to the team which won the last match between them.
When the tie in point’s ratio is between three or more teams, a new classification of these teams in the terms of point 1, 2 and 3 will be made taking into consideration only the matches in which they were opposed to each other.
Match won 3-0,3-1(2-0) 3 points
Match won 3-2(2-1) 2 points
Match lost 2-3(1-2) 1 point
Match lost 0-3,1-3(0-2) 0 point
Match forfeited (25-0,25-0,25-0) 0 point
2.2. Knockout Stage
After the completion of group stage, the qualifying teams will head straight into knockout, the winner of the match progressing to the next round and the loser eliminated from the competition.
3. Competition format
The match will be played of “best of 3” in League round, deciding to played game on 25 points and no court change. Knockout stage will be played of “best of 5”. All the knockout stages are going to be through lucky draw including semi-final.
4. Team Composition
Maximum of 10 players are allowed
5. Substitution
· The championship will allow 4 substitutions per game for each team.
· Substitutions can only be made when the ball is out of play and referee’s consent.
· All the substitutions should take place in the substitution zone following the substitution card. e.g. If the jersey number 4 is substituted by jersey number7, only the number 4 can re-substitute number 7 later.
· Substitutions may be requested only by the coach or in his absence, by the game captain.
6. Technical area
Only registered players and Coach/Manager may remain within the technical area during the whole match duration and must behave in a respectable manner. Please NOTE that NO outside guests will be entertained in the technical area.
7. Registration of players and the team
The duly filled registration form of players and the Coach/Manager of the team with 1(one) passport size photograph must be submitted to the organizer of the tournament on or before a specified date along with the specified entry fee and They must submit their TPN Number of each player. Last date for registration is on 5th August at 5:00 PM.
7.1. Eligibility of a Player
· A player must be a legal employee of the Department/Institution
· The nature of employment is limited to regular, contract and students.
· No club players are allowed
· Interns and On Job trainees are not allowed to play as a player of the institution.
· The team must submit a cover letter signed by the HoD (Head of Department/Organization) acknowledging the same. Should any dispute arise and the Team is found guilty, the team will be disqualified and the signing HoD must take full responsibility.
8. Documents Required for Registration
· Citizenship Identity card no with Date of Birth
· Employment/student (If appropriate)
· Appointment order
· TPN Number
9. Entry fee
An entry of Nu 8,000/- (non-refundable) may be deposited from 5th August. Last date for payment is on the date of team captain’s meeting.
10. Team Uniform
• Each team must have proper uniform with squad numbers on their team jerseys. The players must wear same colored uniform, except for the “Libero” who will wear a different color uniform than the other players. • Jersey numbers must range from 1 to 20 and must be printed on both sides of the shirt.
11. Forfeits and Withdrawals
Forfeiting more than one match would lead to disqualification of the team from the competition. A team’s disqualification from the competition through forfeit and withdrawals will not be eligible for entry fee refund as stated in rule number 9.
Forfeit may be declared if
· A match does not start within 10 minutes of the allocated starting time.
· A team fails to honor their fixture.
· A team forfeiting a match will receive 0 points, and the opposing team will be declared winners and given a score of 25 for 3 sets. In case both teams do not show up, both the teams will be given a score of 0 for 3 sets.
· The player is disqualified if the player is not from their institute, the match played are considered as lost with the point-25-0,25-0 (whether they won or lost). The team will get to play the remaining match without this particular player.
12. Disciplinary Matters: (Cautions and Expulsions)
· Any misbehavior and violent conduct committed by the players or manager in the play field or after the match, the individual player or manager will be suspended for the next tournament organized. Team suspension is also applicable depending on the level of violation conducted.
o 1st warning to the player/team: No points awarded to opponent.
o 2nd warning to the player/team (Yellow card): 1 point awarded to opponent.
o Red and Yellow card combination to a player: Disqualification of particular player.
o Red and Yellow card combination to a team: Disqualification of the team.
Referees’ decision is final and binding. Any problems related to the aforementioned conditions, would be dealt by the Disciplinary Committee. The committee will comprise of members as mentioned below:
Organizers and
Match Officials.
The organizers are not responsible for any misconducts outside of the field or after the matches.
NOTE: Substance abuse like alcohol, drugs and smoking in and around the field of play will not be entertained.
13. Protest
In case of any clarification the team must consult the referee before the start of game.
All complaints concerning the result of the match must be presented in writing to the disciplinary committee within 1 hour after the end of the match concerned. Such a complaint must be in English and be accompanied by a deposit of Nu.2,000/- in cash. The deposit will be refunded immediately if the complaint is found valid.
14. Kick-off time
All match start timings will be informed to the respective team captains. the teams should report for the match 30 minutes prior to kick - off time. A grace period of 10 minutes after the actual time of kick - off time may be granted to the participating Teams by the match officials.
15. Laws of the Game
The Laws of the Game formulated by FIVB will be strictly applied.
16. Miscellaneous
All the players and team officials are required to carry and declare their respective appointment letter. A player will not be allowed to play the particular match if this condition is not met.
If situation arise which is not mentioned above, the referees and/or competition organizer will use their discretion in making a decision. Any team not abiding by the aforementioned rules will be disqualified from the tournament and the organizer shall forfeit their entry fees.
The organizer will not be responsible for providing first aid box.
17. Awards and Prizes
Men: Winner: Nu.30,000/-
Runners- Up: Nu.20,000/-
Women: Winner: Nu.25,000/-
Runners- Up: Nu.20,000/-
The Captain or Team Manager must duly sign on all pages of this Terms of Reference acknowledging that the team understands the terms laid above and has agreed to fully abide by the same. A copy of this signed ToR must be attached to the registration form while submitting it to the organizer.
