How to get an A:)
Take pride in yourself and your work.
Know your X tables like you can breathe.
Come to class prepared to learn:
Charged Chromebook;
Workbook;
Sharp pencils/ Pens to correct; and
Jungle Tiger attitude focused on learning not grades.
Use your class time well.
Pay attention and participate;
Use tools appropriately (Chromebook, Google Classroom, Workbook, Desmos, Quizzes, etc);
Write legibly;
Take good notes and refer to them as needed; and
Ask questions or clarify things you don't understand asap.
Complete all Practice assignments in the Workbook, then check answers on Desmos.
Make Workbook corrections obvious (ex: different color, boxed, etc).
7. Complete a Quiz “Redo” for any score below 99%.
Correct and be able to explain all missed problems.
As you enter the classroom, let me know you have all your corrections and are ready to discuss your new understanding. I’ll invite you to my desk to do so once I get the class going.
8. Get help right away:
Ask questions in class;
Send me an email;
Come to my Math Lab Wednesday mornings 7:45- 8:15;
Come in at break; or
Go to Math Lab after school T/Th (same 1/2 of building: next door w/ Mrs.Stanley (TH) or Ms. Hampton (T) next to the hallway).
9. Study math every school day for at least 10 minutes:
Highlight/ rewrite/ rework Workbook notes and missed problems.
Make and/ or practice flashcards
Take Practice Quizzes and Tests multiple times to increase accuracy and fluency
Create a test w/ a key
Teach someone how to ...
10. Remember, good luck and hard work go hand in hand. The sooner you start working, the luckier you'll be:)
