FAQs

What does it mean to be a Graham Center Student Fellow?

  • Being a Graham Center Student Fellow means that you have a passion for civic engagement and service. Fellows pride themselves on being life-long learners and seeking out new opportunities to improve civic health wherever they are. There is a strong sense of community that comes with being a Fellow, and members develop life-long connections in both their professional and personal lives, wherever they end up.

Who can apply? When can you apply? Are there specific major requirements?

What would be expected from me as a Graham Center Student Fellow?

  • This year, we are currently working on revamping our points system--but the main components of membership as a fellow involve the following: attending General Body Meetings, participating in one of our three Committees, and engaging with the Graham Center through Ambassadorship opportunities.

  • Depending on your main interests, we also encourage Fellows to lead their own programming or initiative with the help of the Graham Center's resources to further engage with the Graham Center's values and to build public leadership skills. Our organization also really values the community we share—social events are planned throughout the year for members to build connections with each other!

How can you get more involved in leadership? What are the Fellows’ committees?

  • Within the Fellows we have committees. These committees range from Inclusion and Equity, Education & Policy, and Community Outreach & Engagement. Within these committees, Fellows can hold leadership roles, such as serving as the committee chair, planning events, and creating social media posts. Committees are a great way for Fellows to become friends with one another and develop leadership skills.

  • The Student Fellows also serve as the student ambassadors for the Bob Graham Center and are encouraged to pursue other opportunities within the Center's various programs. Since the return of in-person programming for the Center, there is also the opportunity for members of the Student Fellows to help provide logistical support for the Center's events.
