To raise awareness of our risk and protective factors and ensure the information reaches everyone, we created social media accounts on Instagram and TikTok, selected with today's youth as our target audience.
Beyond Isolation is a social media account dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of risk factors such as loneliness, isolation, and self-criticism on mental health.
Our goal is to encourage others to recognize and address these challenges in their own lives, with the support of their community. Through our posts, we share tips on managing mindfulness, provide insights on how loneliness and isolation affects mental health, and offer therapy-based techniques to help individuals navigate these risks and improve their well-being.
Our mental health consultant, Ms. Caroline Shariett, received her B.S. in Psychology from Birmingham Southern College and her Masters in School Counseling from Auburn University. She has 16 years of experience as a School Counselor. She has a passion for school counseling and helping students find balance and wellness. She enjoys supporting students as they work towards their goals for the future.
Ms. Shariett's expertise in mental health provided us with critical insights into the challenges faced by our school community, helping us shape an event that truly addressed those needs. She assisted in planning engaging activities, provided educational resources, and ensured that our content was both accurate and impactful. Her encouragement and support empowered us to create a meaningful project that promotes mental health awareness and fosters a supportive environment for everyone.
