Über unsere Gruppe „Beyond Economism“

Wer sind wir?

Wir sind eine kleine Gruppe von engagierten Menschen in Berlin, die sich einmal monatlich trifft.  Wir tauschen uns über die Transformationen aus, die für eine lebenswerte Zukunft der Menschheit notwendig sind.  Unser Ziel ist es, eingefahrene wirtschaftspolitische Denkmuster zu hinterfragen und alternative, ganyheitliche Wirtschaftsmodelle zu fördern, die das Wohl aller Menschen und die ökologische Grundlage unseres Lebens in den Mittelpunkt stellen.  Wir sprechen Deutsch and Englisch.  

Was wollen wir?

Unser Ziel ist es, pluralistische und am Gemeinwohl orientierte Formen des Wirtschaftens zu verstehen und zu fördern, die nicht auf monetäres Wachstum und Gewinnmaximierung ausgerichtet sind. Dazu erkunden wir, wie Wohlstand für alle und die Einzelnen durch Kreativität und unternehmerische Initiative in einer fairen und solidarischen Gesellschaft erreicht werden kann. 

Wir möchten die Dominanz des „Ökonomismus“, einer Ideologie, die alle Lebensbereiche dem Prinzip des Wirtschaftens und Kalkulierens unterordnet, überwinden. Der Ökonomismus hat entscheidende Aspekte unseres Lebens entwertet oder zerstört: soziale Beziehungen, sinnvolle Arbeit, aktive Teilhabe, Solidarität und Verantwortung für die Mitmenschen bis hin zur Treibhausgasverschmutzung der Erd-Atmosphäre und dem Raubbau an Ökosystemen, die unser Überleben sichern.

Menschen sehen sich steigendem Stress ausgesetzt, um ihren Lebensunterhalt zu bestreiten. Um die akute Krise steigender Preise und sinkender Realeinkommen zu lösen,  müssen unfaire Formen des Wirtschaftens bekämpft und Verteilungsgerechtigkeit gefördert werden.

Unsere Vision ist klar: Eine Wirtschaft, die nicht dem Profit dient, sondern dem Wohl aller. Wir laden alle ein, sich uns anzuschließen, um gemeinsam diesen Wandel aktiv zu gestalten

Was machen wir konkret?

Kern sind unsere monatlichen Treffen. Einmal im Monat treffen wir uns, um uns auszutauschen über:

·      aktuelle Literatur und Artikel

·      neue Entwicklungen im Bereich der Wirtschaftstransformation

·      und konkrete Aktivitäten.

Wir haben bereits einige Aktivitäten gestartet, um unser Ziel einer gerechteren und nachhaltigeren Wirtschaft voranzutreiben:

• Entwicklung eines Spiels: Wir arbeiten an der Entwicklung eines Spiels, das den Menschen hilft, verschiedene Formen des nicht-monetären Reichtums zu entdecken. Ziel ist es, das Bewusstsein für alternative Wirtschaftsmodelle zu stärken und das Thema auf eine spielerische Weise in die Öffentlichkeit zu tragen.

• Veranstaltungen: In Partnerschaft mit anderen Organisationen konzipieren und organisieren wir öffentliche Veranstaltungen, um eine breitere Öffentlichkeit für eine gerechtes und nachhaltiges Wirtschaftssystem zu begeistern. Darüber hinaus prüfen wir Formate, wie zum Beispiel einen TedTalk über die neue Wirtschaft, um mehr Menschen zu erreichen.

• Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Wirtschaftsinitiativen: Wir sind überzeugt, dass eine Vielzahl von unorthodoxen Wirtschaftsmodellen wie der Gemeinwohlökonomie, Postwachstumsökonomie, Donut-Ökonomie oder der Life Economy zu einer gemeinsamen Vision einer solidarischen und nachhaltigen Wirtschaft beitragen kann. Wir wollen von diesen Ansätzen lernen und einen Raum für Austausch darüber schaffen.

Wie kann man mitmachen?

Unsere Initiative ist offen für alle, die an einer grundlegenden Veränderung der Wirtschaft interessiert sind und die bereit sind, aktiv an diesem Wandel mitzuarbeiten. Wir suchen Menschen, die die Vision einer humanen, ökologisch nachhaltigen und gerechten Wirtschaft teilen und bereit sind, mit uns gemeinsam an Lösungen zu arbeiten.

Who are we?

We discuss the profound transformations that are necessary to secure a livable future for all of humanity. Our goal is to question entrenched economic thinking and structures and to promote alternative, holistic economic models that focus on the well-being of all people and the ecological basis of our lives.

What do we want?

Our goal is to understand and promote pluralistic forms of economic activity that are oriented towards the common good and are not focused on monetary growth and profit maximisation. To this end, we explore how prosperity for all and for individuals can be achieved through creativity and entrepreneurial initiative in a fair and solidarity-based society.

We want to overcome the dominance of ‘economism’, an ideology that subordinates all areas of life to the principle of economic efficiency and calculation. Economism has devalued or destroyed crucial aspects of our lives: social relationships, meaningful work, active participation, solidarity and responsibility for our fellow human beings, and even the greenhouse gas pollution of the Earth's atmosphere and the overexploitation of ecosystems that ensure our survival.

People are facing increasing stress in order to earn a living. To solve the acute crisis of rising prices and falling real incomes, unfair forms of economic activity must be combated and distributive justice promoted.

Our vision is clear: an economy that serves the common good rather than profit. We invite everyone to join us in actively shaping this change together.

What do we do specifically?

Our monthly meetings are at the heart of what we do: we meet once a month to discuss:

• Current literature and articles

• New developments in the field of economic transformation

• And specific activities.

We have already launched a number of activities to advance our goal of a fairer and more sustainable economy:

• Game development: We are working on developing a game that helps people discover different forms of non-monetary wealth. The aim is to raise awareness of alternative economic models and bring the topic to the public in a playful way.

• Events: In partnership with other organisations, we design and organise public events to inspire a wider audience to support a fair and sustainable economic system. In addition, we are exploring formats such as a TedTalk on the new economy to reach more people.

• Collaboration with other economic initiatives: We are convinced that a variety of unorthodox economic models such as the economy for the common good, post-growth economy, doughnut economy or life economy can contribute to a shared vision of a solidarity-based and sustainable economy. We want to learn from these approaches and create a space for exchange about them.

How can you get involved?

Our initiative is open to anyone who is interested in fundamental change in the economy and who is willing to actively participate in this change. We are looking for people who share the vision of a humane, ecologically sustainable and fair economy and who are willing to work with us to find solutions.
