Date: Saturday, February 21st, 2025
This hike which had been originally planned for January 24, 2026 was rescheduled due to severe winter weather.
Where: Mount Falcon Park, 21074 Mount Falcon Road, Indian Hills, CO 80454
Mount Falcon is only a 25 minutes drive west of Bethany off of US Hwy 285. This is one of many JeffCo Parks and it offers many different trails with beautiful scenic views of Red Rocks, Denver, and the Front Range as well as interesting historical sites.
We offered a choice of two guided hikes: an easy short hike to the Walker ruins and back or a moderate 5 mi hike to the site of the planned Summer White House planned and failed site.
Trip Report
God blessed us with a beautiful day which started on the cool and cloudy side and finished with beautiful sunny skies. We even had a wild turkey greet us as we were driving up to the West trailhead. The views of Red Rocks and the Front Range were amazing! We had a very fun group of hikers, many stories were shared and lots of camaraderie and laughter was heard. The start time of both hikes were timed so that we all finished at about the same time at the pavillion located by the West Parking lot to enjoy cookies and hot chocolate/apple cider/tea and fellowship.
