Growing our connection with God through nature and fellowship is one of many ways we can deepen our faith. Colorado’s natural beauty reminds us of God’s amazing creation. It offers us outdoor recreation opportunities others can only dream about. Our busy daily lives tend to keep us indoors away from the beauty of nature, whether at work, working from home, even at church, scrolling through social media, watching tv, etc., our senses are deprived of so much that is beautiful, so many little miracles happening all around us. We begin to forget to stop and smell the flowers, admire the rainbows, be awed by the songs of the birds, have our spirits be lifted by the incredible sunrises and sunsets we experience almost every day.
The Bethany Outdoor Adventures group creates opportunities for anyone in our congregation to experience spirituality and fellowship in the beauty of creation by participating in one or all of the quarterly outdoor activities that will be planned with the following things in mind:
The activities will be as inclusive as possible of all ages and fitness levels.
We will encourage intergenerational activities.
All will be welcome, including youth and children as long as they are accompanied by their parent/guardian.
Some of the activities may be just a few minutes or hours away and some may include spending the night away.
Participants will self-determine which activities they will want to join and what fitness level they should participate in.
