Beta Sigma Fraternity- 3rd One Mindanao Summit At Ciudad De Zamboanga

The BETA SIGMA FRATERNITY-SIGMA BETA SORORITY united during the 3rd One Mindanao Summit last April 14-21, 2024 at Astoria Hotel in the heart of One Mindanao in Ciudad de Zamboanga. Set against the backdrop of the stunning city of Zamboanga, the event promises to be more than just another fraternity occasion. Experience the breathtaking beauty of Zamboanga City, often dubbed "Asia's Latin City. " The theme for this year is "Sustaining the gains and building bridges for a bigger and stronger brotherhood.

It’s another especial event held at Bahay Maria Foundation, Inc at Badoy St. Poblacion 2, last March 31, 2024. This was a joint initiative of Beta Sigma & Sigma Beta. To cap off the day, food was distributed to all. They were given treats! No tricks, just lots of blessings. ‘Thank You’ sis Jozy Waite for spending your Birthday at Bahay Maria.

Relief Assistance sa Datu Blah Sinsuat after Typhoon Paeng's Aftermath.

The BETA SIGMA FRATERNITY-SIGMA BETA SORORITY (Alumni Association-Cotabato & Maguindanao Assembly conducted “Second Medical Mission and Relief Goods Distribution “for individuals in Barangay Datu Blah Sinsuat after Typhoon Paeng aftermath last November 27, 2022. Among the services provided were medical check-ups, dental services, blood typing, random blood sugar tests, and received free medicines and vitamins.

BETA SIGMA FRATERNITY-SIGMA BETA SORORITY OPERATION FREE TULI

NOTRE DAME UNIVERSITY in Partnership with BETA SIGMA FRATERNITY-SIGMA BETA SORORITY Alumni Association, COMPACT II GENCON, INC., and MINISTRY OF HEALTH BARMM conducted Operation Libreng Tuli 2023 last July 29, 2023.

In line with its endeavor to promote the health and well-being of the residents as well as to provide quality healthcare services, especially to the children in the community NOTRE DAME UNIVERSITY in Partnership with BETA SIGMA FRATERNITY-SIGMA BETA SORORITY Alumni Association, COMPACT II GENCON, INC. and MINISTRY OF HEALTH BARMM conducted Operation Libreng Tuli 2023 last July 29, 2023.

With the eagerness and desire to avail the free tuli and save from the expensive cost of circumcision, children together with their parents line up and patiently waited for the operation tuli to begin.

The event started with the registration and signing of consent, followed by the taking of vital signs and skin testing of lidocaine was done. After a negative skin test, the children proceeded to the circumcision procedure with an aseptic technique strictly observed. To help facilitate the healing and prevent any complications, free medications were also prescribed and given to the clients right after the operation.

The significant others accompanying the clients were given instructions on the prescribed dosage of the medication together with pertinent health teachings on post-circumcision care. They were also instructed to refer to the barangay health center for any inquiries or complaints thereafter.

Operation Libreng Tuli was a success through the help of the different health personnel, Betan & Sigman Doctors and Nurses for their untiring support and other OR staff and other staff nurses who render their expertise in the operation, and the personnel who helped and shared their time for this activity to push through.

NATIONWIDE BAMBOO/TREE PLANTING

“He who plants a tree, plants hope.” ONE BETAN MINDANAO LAUNCHING”

“Alay ng KAPATIRAN sa Inang KALIKASAN: NATIONAL BAMBOO/TREE PLANTING JULY 14, 2023.

A BETAN Charter in cooperation with the Philippine Bamboo Industry Development Council (PBIDC) Project.

Kawayan tinik (bambusa blumea) seedlings were planted by the Philippine Bamboo Industry Development Council and BETA SIGMA FRATERNITY-SIGMA BETA SORORITY in a hectare of planting site in the said area.

The Tree Planting Activity is part of the celebration of the Philippine Environment Month “Alay ng KAPATIRAN sa Inang KALIKASAN.

“Alay ng KAPATIRAN sa Inang KALIKASAN” is the campaign for World Environment Day 2023 which calls for collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our planet. And the day was closed with a traditional fellowship with Betan- Sigman who participated in the activity.

To promote excellence among its members and other non-members in academics, student publication, sports, music, cultural, and other student activities inside and outside of the University; and to promote student welfare through various projects and endeavors.

The goal of a fraternity is to train students to become exemplary leaders. They should be selfless in their commitment to serve the University and the community. Through this training, the fraternity strives to develop students who are prepared to take on leadership roles and make a positive impact on their surroundings.
