In a powerful demonstration of commitment to health and community, the BETA SIGMA FRATERNITY-SIGMA BETA SORORITY Alumni Association of Cotabato and Maguindanao successfully organized the much-anticipated “Takbo ni Malmon 2024” Fun Run on November 23, 2024, at the iconic People’s Palace in Cotabato City. With the inspiring theme “Embrace Wellness, Let’s Run,” the event aimed to encourage physical fitness, mental well-being, and community solidarity among participants from all walks of life.
Runners from across the region gathered early in the morning, energized by the festive atmosphere and the shared goal of promoting a healthier lifestyle. The event featured two main race categories: a challenging 10-kilometer run and a more accessible 5-kilometer run, catering to both serious athletes and casual runners alike. Participants proudly crossed the finish line, with finishers in both categories receiving medals and certificates as a token of their achievement and dedication.
More than just a sporting event, “Takbo ni Malmon 2024” served as a platform to bring together members of the fraternity and sorority alumni, local government units, and various community organizations. The camaraderie and spirit of unity were palpable, reflecting the deep bonds and shared values that the Beta Sigma and Sigma Beta organizations uphold.
The event was made possible through the generous support and collaboration of key sponsors and partners, including the Department of Health (DOH), City of Cotabato Government, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), GAMES, ZOOKEE, BRB, and the 1960 alumni group. Their support was instrumental in ensuring the smooth organization, safety, and success of the event.
Organizers highlighted that the fun run was more than a race—it was a celebration of health, brotherhood, and community spirit. They emphasized the importance of regular physical activity as a cornerstone for well-being and encouraged everyone to incorporate fitness into their daily routines.
As the sun set on the day’s activities, participants and organizers alike expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who joined and supported the event. With plans already underway for future wellness initiatives, the Beta Sigma Fraternity and Sigma Beta Sorority Alumni Association reaffirmed their dedication to fostering a vibrant, healthy, and united community in Cotabato and beyond.
