"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge." Albert Einstein.
The importance of elementary school in children's' development cannot be overstressed. During children's first interactions with the world outside of their family they need to learn that the world can be a wondrous place where their creativity and curiosity are rewarded and valued. School is a place where their courage and imagination is not punished; rather it is celebrated as a step closer to achievement. They begin to learn to encourage and care for others because they are part of a community. They also begin to recognize their individuality and take responsibility for their progress and success.
