# Terms and Conditions for Bento (Student App)

## 1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Bento mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "Student," or "you") and Bento ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").
## 2. Definitions
- **"App"**: The Bento mobile application for students/customers
- **"Services"**: All services provided through the App
- **"User"**: Any person who downloads, installs, or uses the App
- **"Mess Partner"**: Mess owners and food service providers on our platform
- **"Subscription"**: A recurring meal plan purchased through the App
- **"Platform"**: The collective ecosystem of Bento apps and services
## 3. Eligibility
To use our App, you must:
- Be at least 13 years of age (users under 18 need parental consent)
- Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts (or parental consent)
- Not be prohibited from using the App under applicable laws
- Provide accurate registration information
## 4. Account Registration
### 4.1 Account Creation
- You must provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
### 4.2 Phone Verification
- Account creation requires phone number verification via OTP
- You must have access to the phone number provided during registration
- One account per phone number is permitted
### 4.3 Account Responsibility
- You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account
- You must not share your account credentials with others
- You must not create multiple accounts
## 5. Services Provided
The Bento App provides the following services:

- Browse nearby mess services and restaurants
- View menus, prices, and ratings
- Search and filter options
### 5.2 Subscriptions & Orders
- Subscribe to meal plans
- Place individual food orders
- Track order status
- Manage subscriptions
### 5.3 Payments
- Digital wallet for payments
- Multiple payment options
- Transaction history
### 5.4 Additional Features
- QR code attendance tracking
- Push notifications for updates
- Favorites and preferences
- Reviews and ratings
- Coupon redemption
## 6. User Obligations
As a User, you agree to:
### 6.1 Acceptable Use
- Use the App only for lawful purposes
- Provide accurate information
- Respect Mess Partners and their staff
- Pay for all orders and subscriptions
- Attend subscribed meals or cancel in advance when permitted
### 6.2 Prohibited Activities
You must NOT:
- Provide false or misleading information
- Engage in fraudulent activities
- Abuse the platform or its features
- Harass or abuse Mess Partners or other users
- Attempt to hack or manipulate the App
- Create fake reviews or ratings
- Misuse coupons or promotional offers
- Use the App for any illegal purpose
## 7. Subscriptions and Payments
### 7.1 Subscription Plans
- Subscription plans are offered by individual Mess Partners
- Plan details, pricing, and terms vary by Mess Partner
- Subscriptions may include specific meal times, menu options, and validity periods
### 7.2 Payment
- All prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (INR)
- Payments are processed securely through our payment partners (Cashfree)
- You agree to pay all fees associated with your orders and subscriptions
### 7.3 Refunds and Cancellations
- Refund policies vary by Mess Partner
- Subscription cancellation terms are specified by each Mess Partner
- Refunds, if applicable, will be processed to your original payment method or wallet
- Processing time for refunds may vary
### 7.4 Digital Wallet
- You may add funds to your digital wallet for payments
- Wallet balance is non-transferable
- Unused wallet balance may be refunded upon account closure (subject to terms)
## 8. Attendance and QR Codes
### 8.1 QR Code Attendance
- Subscriptions may require QR code scanning for meal attendance
- You must scan the QR code at the mess to mark attendance
- Missed scans may result in forfeiture of that meal (no refunds)
### 8.2 QR Code Misuse
- QR codes are personal and non-transferable
- Sharing or misusing QR codes is prohibited
- Violations may result in account suspension
## 9. Reviews and Ratings
### 9.1 User Reviews
- You may leave reviews and ratings for Mess Partners
- Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experiences
- Fake or misleading reviews are prohibited
### 9.2 Content Guidelines
Reviews must NOT contain:
- Offensive or inappropriate language
- Personal attacks or harassment
- False or defamatory statements
- Spam or promotional content
### 9.3 Moderation
- We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our guidelines
- Repeated violations may result in account suspension
## 10. Advertising
### 10.1 In-App Advertising
- The App displays advertisements to support our free services
- Ads may be personalized based on your usage and preferences
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in device settings
### 10.2 Third-Party Advertisers
- We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements
- Clicking on ads may take you to external websites
## 11. Intellectual Property
### 11.1 Our Rights
- The App, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by Bento
- Our trademarks, logos, and brand elements are our exclusive property
- You may not use our intellectual property without written permission
### 11.2 Your Content
- You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, reviews, etc.)
- You grant us a license to use your content for platform operations
- You represent that you have rights to all content you upload
### 11.3 License
- We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App
- This license is revocable and subject to these Terms
## 12. Privacy and Data
### 12.1 Privacy Policy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
### 12.2 Data Usage
- We collect and process data as described in our Privacy Policy
- You consent to data collection necessary for App functionality
- Your data may be shared with Mess Partners for order fulfillment
## 13. Termination
### 13.1 By You
- You may delete your account at any time through the App settings
- Active subscriptions should be resolved before account deletion
- Wallet balance will be handled according to our refund policy
### 13.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent activities
- Abuse the platform or other users
- Have prolonged inactivity
- Breach applicable laws
### 13.3 Effect of Termination
- Access to the App and Services will be revoked
- Your data may be retained as required by law
- Active subscriptions will be handled according to our policies
## 14. Disclaimers
### 14.1 Service Availability
- The App is provided "as is" and "as available"
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
- We may modify or discontinue features without notice
### 14.2 Food Quality
- We are a platform connecting users with Mess Partners
- Food quality and safety are the responsibility of Mess Partners
- We do not prepare, handle, or deliver food
### 14.3 No Warranties
- We make no warranties regarding the App's fitness for a particular purpose
- Third-party integrations are subject to their own terms
## 15. Limitation of Liability
### 15.1 Cap on Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the preceding 3 months.
### 15.2 Exclusions
We are not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Food quality, safety, or allergic reactions
- Actions of Mess Partners
- Data loss or corruption
- Force majeure events
## 16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bento, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Your violation of applicable laws
## 17. Dispute Resolution
### 17.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
### 17.2 Arbitration
- Disputes shall be resolved through arbitration
- Arbitration shall be conducted in [City], India
