Ben McHardy is a professional drummer and composer based in Wellington, New Zealand. He is highly regarded in the local scene for his powerful and energetic drumming style, which stems from his background in heavy rock and progressive metal genres. Ben received the 'Best Drummer' award in the 2023 NZ National 'Battle of the Bands' competition, and his band Dave and the Dirty Humans took home second place and the 'Best Songwriter' award.
Ben is an experienced songwriter, and is releasing his debut single, 'Smilezz That Aren't Around', on 15th November 2023. Ben plays in Dave and the Dirty Humans, a heavy rock outfit who released their first single, 'Fora' in 2023.
Ben is involved with a variety of projects, including both recorded and live session work. He has drummed for artists like Hybrid Rose, Michael Llewelyn, and phil. Ben regularly plays shows locally and around New Zealand with various acts, and is an enthusiastic and experienced performer.
