Having just learned how jet engines work and acquiring SolidWorks, I decided to create a replica of a high bypass turbofan engine. With the modelling power of SolidWorks, I figured that this would be the perfect way to learn this new skill. There were many issues encountered with this project, most notably, the compressors and turbines had extremely small fan blades that would snap easily. Through countless iterations, this problem was solved, teaching me a lot about 3D printing extremely small components, as well as handling large assemblies in SolidWorks.
Skills:
CAD Modelling (SolidWorks), 3D Printing (For Small omponents), Complex SolidWorks Assemblies (Hundreds of parts such as the blades in the LPC, HPC, HPT, LPT).
