This course provides students with the opportunity to understand basic principles and techniques in area of Digital Communications – sub-branch of Communication Theory, which is an application branch of Information Theory. Transmission techniques and coding techniques are explained on the background of particular blocks of a simplex transmission system. Namely basic codes for Translation, Error Control, Compaction Compression, and Capacity of discrete channel are forming the contents. This course provides a theoretical basis for study and understanding of subsequent courses such as: IPv6 & IoT, Architecture of wireless 2G and 3G networks, Wireless Communications, Architecture of wireless 4G and 4G+ networks and Design of telecommunications networks. However the acquired knowledge could be applied also in Computer science, Informatics, automation, robotics and consumer electronics.
