Rules and Expectations

NECESSARY EQUIPMENT. For practice you will need a suit, cap, goggles, water bottle and a towel.  You may practice in any suit you like as long as it is meant for competitive swimming (no board shorts).

TEAM GEAR.  We have a team store with SwimOutlet.com. Please order your team suit ASAP. Girls have a choice between brands and boys choose between jammers and briefs.  We have added a Jolyn Female suit this year, due to multiple requests.  If you need help determining size, please let Coach Alex know. Pease see Home Page for link to our Team Store. If you have a suit from previous years, there is no need to purchase another as the design as remained the same.

Bend High team caps are to be worn at all practices and meets.  Our team suits are expected for all students. Caps will be provided by coaches.

sportsYou  Coaches will use sportsYou to communicate information throughout the season.  You can access sportsYou from both iPhones and Androids, non-smartphones, and if you do not have a phone you can use a desktop computer to sign up for email notifications.  This will be the primary format for communication from coaches regarding all events this season. Students and Parents can individually message Coach Alex on sportYou for quicker communication. 

JSFC RULES & REGULATIONS.  Athletes must park in the upper section of the main parking lot (near 5th Street), and not in the Franklin Street/Fitness Center parking lot. Athletes are not allowed to park their car overnight for swim meets.  Athletes must check in at the front desk identifying that they are here for High School Swim Team, and proceed directly to the pool deck. Athletes may not congregate in the lobby or hallway or other areas of the facility. Athletes must use the Pool Locker rooms. Athletes are not permitted in the Fitness Locker Rooms or Family Changing Rooms. Use of the family changing rooms will not be tolerated and may cause athletes to be removed from the facility and potentially your high school team. Athletes may not use the hot tub, sauna, steam room, fitness center or other facilities unless they are current pass holders and have completed the appropriate orientation. Athletes are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner at all times. Inappropriate language, gestures or behavior may result in a suspension of facility privileges.

COMMITMENT. There are only 14 weeks of our high school swimming season, and it will go by fast!  We will begin with fundamentals but will quickly increase the workload.  We work hard but we have a lot of fun doing it! Please do everything you can to be at every practice, every day.  Consistency is key!  If you have a job or alternate commitment (ie Choir, Club Sports, etc), inform Coach Alex as soon as possible so we can make adjustments for success!
