In this short paper written jointly with Karthik Ganapathy for the Convex Optimization course at UT Dallas taught by Dr. Tyler Summers we describe some existing approaches for performing path planning via support vector machines, a classical machine learning classification algorithm which leverages quadratic (convex) programming.
