While we have no evidence that American Expeditionary Force soldiers attended the Grantham Machine Gun School for training, their officers did visit for instruction. Brigadier General P. E. Pierce, 54th Infantry Brigade attended in 1918. His two-page report, below, offers insights into training, including the use of a well known London artist for training in camouflage.
