Take tide pooling to a whole new level of understanding .This session will stimulate and nurture student interest in marine biology. Daily experiences and discussions associated with our field studies will carry over into their classroom enthusiasm and understanding of local marine wildlife. Our primary location for the week is Scarborough Beach State Park where we'll explore both ends of the beach as well as Prout's Neck, but on occasion, we also travel around to the different coastline destinations available in and around the area where we can study the living world of the rocky intertidal zone to search for, collect, and analyze the many different organisms in their natural habitat. All organisms are catch and release in an effort to educate and have minimal ecological impact. Time will be available every day to fish, swim, stroll along the beaches searching for shells, driftwood, sea glass, and marine life such as sand dollars that wash up on our local beaches.
*Please pack your son or daughter with plenty of sunscreen and water!
**There is a snack shack at Scarborough Beach State Park and we do allow our group to stop there at the end of the day so please feel free to send them with a little money if you like.
