None of these compositions were commissioned by anybody other than from my own need and personal drive to create, especially wrought from these uncertain times. Some people paint, others redecorate vigorously. I can't do either very well, so, "In your fair minds let this acceptance take" (Shakespeare, Henry V).
If you are intrigued by this project yet wouldn't consider yourself a performer of a musical instrument, or a singer, or you nevertheless would like to help out in an additional and meaningful way, your financial support is truly welcome, from the bottom of my heart. That being said, rather than contributing to a KickStarter or GoFundMe page (which takes a hefty cut from fundraising), if you'd like, please go directly to my PayPal link to ensure the vast majority of your contribution goes directly to this creative adventure.
Alternatively, last year, I released my first album, inspired by Canadian First World War poetry, The Great War Sextet: Canadian War Poetry with Trombone & Strings, featuring some exceptionally talented musicians from across Canada. Please visit the album's SoundCloud link to the right and consider streaming or buying an album, where the funds, like a chain reaction, will help, right here.
Take care,
Ben
Towards an Album
I am sharing the score and parts freely, as you can see, in the same manner as scriptwriters share spec. scripts. My objective is this music is to ultimately produce an album that pays all of the musicians fairly and equitably Union scale rates. If you would like to see my budget, send me a message and we can discuss further possibilities.
