Biology, Epidemiology and Coding Meetings, (BEC Meetings)

The Biology, Epidemiology and Coding Meetings (BEC Meetings), are weekly extracurricular meetings hosted at the Simon A. Levin Mathematical and Computational Sciences Center at Arizona State University. I design and lead these meetings with the aim of expose students of the Applied Mathematics for the Life and Social Sciences (AMLSS) graduate and undergraduate programs, to mathematical modeling population biology and epidemiology.

In these meetings, we discuss the biologic underlying mechanisms involved in the formulation and interpretation of mathematical models. In addition, I incorporate self-designed Wolfram Mathematica notebooks to lead participants over some of the coding techniques used to explore the mathematics involved in the analysis of discrete- and continuous-time mathematical models.

Some of the material I use in these meetings can be found in the section Computer Labs.
