Ecology for Young Audiences
Lexi Jasen & Rachel Meyer
Brief Project Description
Étude Middle School students will write children's book for Étude Elementary School around ecosystems for young audiences. Middle School students will participate in observations of living and non living f
actors in an ecosystem interacting in our local area. They will write short scientific claims and reasoning around their experiences. Students will develop needs of a children's book, choose writing strategies to engage audience and communicate information. Jacquline Houtman believes that "sciencey fiction" is a connection between current, accurate science to creative products that allows all student to access the content.
