I received my Ph.D. from Florida State University in Developmental Psychology in 2020 and am affiliated with the Developmental Sciences program.

Howdy! I am Xiaotong (Lucy) Yi. I am a third year Ph.D. student in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Developmental Sciences. I work with Dr. Barroso researching math anxiety and math mindsets. My research goals focus on fraction learning, autism, and math anxiety. I hope to apply my theories in real teaching environments and work as a faculty member in college in the future. I love playing tennis and traveling in my spare time.

My research interests are the asynchronocity of social, emotional, and intellectual development in gifted and neurodivergent students, as well as the impact of gender and gendered socialization on mathematics achievement and attitudes. In my free time, I’m also a big fan of amphibians, HBO original TV shows, and garage sales.
