Anatomy/ Physiology

What is physiology?

Most humans have two legs, two arms, and one head but what else do we know about our bodies? Human physiology is the study of the human body and how it works. Anatomy is more concerned with its structure. This includes our organs, muscles, skeleton, circulatory system, and more. Other scientific disciplines help us understand how the human body works. For example the physics that governs our systems' behaviors like pressure on our blood vessels or force generated by muscle contraction. Molecular biology can help us understand how our immune system is regulated and how our tissues become inflamed. Because humans and other closely genetically related organisms share similar anatomy and physiology, we can learn about ourselves by studying them.
